Panchkula, Oct 13 (UNI) The District Town Planning (DTP) Department today demolished 26 damp-proof course (DPC) structures and an illegally developed road network in two unauthorised colonies in the villages of Khokhra and Sitomajra in Panchkula district as part of its drive against illegal colonisation.
The demolition drive was carried out under the supervision of District Town Planner Babita Gupta and the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Satpal Sharma.
Officials said six DPC structures were demolished in Khokhra village, while 20 DPC structures and an internal road network were razed in Sitomajra using JCB machines.
The operation was conducted in the presence of Duty Magistrate Ashok Kumar, Assistant Town Planners Dimpy Rathi and other officials, with a heavy police deployment to maintain law and order.
Gupta said prior permission from the Director, Town and Country Planning Department, Haryana, was mandatory before undertaking construction or developing a residential colony.
She warned that strict legal action would continue against individuals found carrying out unauthorised construction or developing illegal colonies without the requisite approvals.
The DTP also appealed to the public not to undertake construction or develop colonies without obtaining the necessary change-of-land-use (CLU) permission or licence from the department. UNI KK SS
