Saini sets grassroots expansion agenda for BJP's SC Morcha, sets grassroots expansion agenda for BJP's SC Morcha,

Panchkula, Oct 13 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini today called for an intensified grassroots mobilisation drive to strengthen the BJP's Scheduled Caste (SC) Morcha across the state, saying the organisation must move beyond political representation to become an effective bridge between marginalised communities and government welfare programmes.
Addressing party workers at the BJP's state headquarters, Panchkamal, after Ajay Khundia assumed charge as the Haryana SC Morcha president, Saini stressed that organisational strength must be reflected in tangible improvements in the lives of disadvantaged sections.
"The true worth of an organisational position is determined by how effectively its responsibilities are discharged and how far its reach extends to the last person in society," Saini said, expressing confidence that Khundia would expand the Morcha's organisational footprint down to the booth level.
Outlining the state government's initiatives for Scheduled Castes, the Chief Minister cited the constitution of the Haryana State Scheduled Castes Commission, 20 per cent reservation in Class I and II government posts, and enhanced financial protection for sanitation workers.
He said the government had decided to double the accidental insurance cover from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh for sanitation workers and sewer personnel who die while performing their duties.
Saini also highlighted scholarships, free coaching for competitive examinations, marriage assistance of up to Rs 71,000 for daughters of economically weaker families, and financial support for housing repairs.
Invoking the social reform movements led by Sant Ravidas, Maharishi Valmiki and Sant Kabir, Saini said their message of equality, dignity and social harmony remained relevant to contemporary governance. He credited B.R. Ambedkar with providing a constitutional foundation for social justice and equal opportunity.
He urged party workers to draw inspiration from Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 25 years in public office and actively support the ongoing Seva Sankalp campaign.
BJP state president Dr Archana Gupta sharpened the party's political attack on the Congress, accusing it of reducing Scheduled Castes to an electoral constituency while failing, in her assessment, to ensure their meaningful empowerment.
She said the BJP's initiatives to honour Ambedkar, including the development of Panchteerth memorial sites and the institutionalisation of Constitution Day, reflected its commitment to social inclusion.
Gupta directed the newly appointed Morcha chief to accelerate organisational expansion at the mandal and booth levels and draw Scheduled Caste sarpanches, municipal councillors, zila parishad representatives and other elected functionaries into the party's organisational network.
She also called for overcoming internal divisions and caste-based discrimination to build a more cohesive organisation.
The programme was attended by Cabinet ministers Krishan Lal Panwar and Krishan Bedi, former BJP state president Mohan Lal Badoli, MLA Pawan Kharkhoda and other senior party leaders. UNI KK SS
