Amaravati, May 21 (UNI) Heavy rainfall at isolated places in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam over the next 24 hours, the Meteorological Centre said on Saturday.
In its daily weather report here, it said that thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds with speeds ranging between 30 to 50 kmph are likely to occur at isolated places in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam during the next 48 hours. Similar weather conditions are expected in South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema during the next 24 hours.
Gusty winds with speeds of 40 to 50 kmph are also likely to affect isolated places in South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema on June 1 and 2, and in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam on June 2.
Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are likely at a few places or isolated locations across Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Rayalaseema over the next seven days.
The IMD reported heavy rainfall in the districts of Vizianagaram, Eluru, and Anakapalli in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh, as well as in the Nandyal district of Rayalaseema during the past 24 hours.
Rainfall was recorded at most places across Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, and at several locations in Rayalaseema during the same period, the report added.
