Himalayan bear rescued in Manipur

Imphal, June 29 (UNI) Two Himalayan black bear cubs of about three months in age which were rescued by DC, Tamenglong Angshim Dangshwa earlier from Kadi village, were handed over by DFO, Tamenglong Kharibam Hitler Singh and RFO Tamenglong Joel Gangmei to Manipur Zoological Gardens.

The two bear cubs were received by Veterinary Officer, Dr L Saratchandra Singh of Manipur Zoological Gardens, Iroishemba, today.
Himalayan Black Bear (Ursus thibetanus laniger) is included in the Schedule I of Wildlife Protection Act 1972.

Honeymoon murders case: SIT recover jewellery of Sonam & Raja from MP

Shillong, June 29 (UNI) The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Meghalaya Police on Sunday recovered jewellery belonging to Raja Raghuvanshi and his widow Sonam from a flat of one of the accused, Shilom James in Madhya Pradesh, police said. LL
Apart from the jewellery, the SIT also recovered a laptop, pen drive and incriminating documents which the SIT considered crucial evidence in the ongoing investigation into the murder Raja.

Kolkata law college rape case: Police collect DNA samples from victim and accused
