Hyd: KIMS Secunderabad conducts advanced manual therapy training for physiotherapists

Hyderabad, Sept 16 (UNI) The Department of Physiotherapy at KIMS Hospitals, Secunderabad, in association with the Manual Therapy Foundation of India, on Wednesday conducted a two-day advanced training programme for physiotherapists focusing on specialised manual therapy techniques.
The programme covered lymphatic and visceral manipulation, neural tissue mobilisation and craniosacral therapy, with physiotherapists and representatives from various States participating.
The training was conducted under the guidance of Dr Ramesh Babu Moparthi, Head of the Department of Physiotherapy, KIMS Secunderabad, with Dr Umashankar Mohanty of the Manual Therapy Foundation of India serving as the resource person.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Moparthi said physiotherapy was an evolving field and continuous training was important for both young and practising physiotherapists to stay updated with advances in treatment techniques.
He said advanced training would help physiotherapists strengthen their clinical skills and apply evidence-based approaches in their practice.
KIMS Director of Medical Education Prof Dr Manimala Rao, KIMS College Principal Dr Venkateshwarlu and Dr Sudhindra Vooturi said there was growing interest among physiotherapists in advanced treatment techniques and specialised areas of manual therapy.
The programme included practical demonstrations and hands-on training, enabling participants to learn and practise various manual therapy techniques under expert guidance.
Individual guidance was also provided during the practical sessions.
The organisers said the programme was aimed at expanding physiotherapists' knowledge of advanced manual therapy techniques and strengthening their practical skills.
Further advanced training programmes would be organised in view of the growing interest in specialised physiotherapy techniques, they added.
