Maha: Minister Bawankule takes initiative to facilitate construction of medical college 8 hospital in Nashik

Nashik, Oct 2 (UNI) The Revenue Department has approved allocation of 12.71 hectares of government land for construction of Nashik’s Government Medical College and Hospital.
The decision was taken through the initiative of Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, following the directions of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
The land is located at Gat No. 117 in Nashik city. Of the total 13.40 hectares available, 0.69 hectares previously allotted to the MERI (Maharashtra Engineering Research Institute) has been excluded, leaving 12.71 hectares for the proposed medical college and hospital.
The state government has approved the allocation of the land free of land revenue and occupancy premium.
Earlier, 14.31 hectares of land at Mhasrul had been allotted for the medical college. However, the decision was subsequently cancelled after it was discovered that the land belonged to the Forest department. Following this, a fresh proposal to allot land at Gat No. 117 was approved.
The newly allotted land can be used exclusively for the approved construction and development works of the medical college and hospital.
The government has also made it mandatory for construction work to commence within three years of taking possession of the land.
Minister Bawankule said the decision to provide the necessary land for Nashik’s Government Medical College was significant for medical education.
He added that the government was extending the necessary support to ensure better facilities for students and strengthen both medical education and healthcare services in Nashik.
