Maha: PM to inaugurate WAVES Summit in Mumbai on May 1

Mumbai, Apr 30 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate India's first global audio-visual and entertainment (WAVES) summit at the Jio World Centre in city on May one.
An official media statement issued here on Wednesday stated that the Maharashtra government is hosting this summit.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde, Ajit Pawar, Industries Minister Uday Samant, Culture & Information Technology Minister Ashish Shelar will be the chief guests at the event.
Under the slogan 'Connecting Creators, Connecting Countries', this four-day summit will showcase India as a global hub for media, entertainment and digital innovation.
In line with PM Modi’s vision of converging creativity, technology and talent, Waves 2025 will encompass films, OTT, gaming, comics, digital media, artificial intelligence, AVGC-XR broadcasting and emerging technologies, featuring a comprehensive showcase of India’s media and entertainment sector.
The summit will host the first-ever Global Media Dialogue (GMD) in Mumbai, in which ministers from 25 countries will participate, marking a historic milestone in India’s global media presence.
The global e-marketplace, Waves Bazaar, will feature over 6,100 buyers, 5,200 sellers and 2,100 projects, providing significant business and networking opportunities locally and globally.
The Prime Minister will visit the Cryptosphere and interact with the creative artists selected under the “Create in India” initiative. Apart from this, he will also visit the India Pavilion, Maharashtra Pavilion.
The Waves 2025 conference will witness participation of over 90 countries, 10,000 delegates, 1,000 artists, over 300 companies and over 350 startups, added the statement.
