Maha: Seven killed, 19 injured in Samruddhi Expressway crash

Wardha, Oct 2 (UNI) Seven people were killed and 19 others injured after a speeding truck rammed into a pickup vehicle on the Samruddhi Expressway in Maharashtra's Wardha district early Friday, police said.
According to officials, the victims were travelling in the pickup vehicle when the truck collided with it on the expressway. The impact was so severe that five people died on the spot, while two others succumbed to their injuries while being taken to hospital.
The deceased have been identified as Ghanshyam Patil, Pravin Bakane, Golu Badalgawar Om Gavande, Dattaji Khursage, Roshan Raut and Muneshwar Dhole
The injured were identified as Dinesh Pandurang Nanawate, Sagar Muneshwar Dhole, Pratik Ramdas Siraskar, Durgesh Yashwant Bhise, Anil Maroti Masram, Pranay Prabhakar Dhole, Yash Ravindra Malkapure, Satish Khade, Satish Vasant Raut, Pawan Moreshwar Dhole, Nandkishor Devidas Siraskar, Narendra Prahlad Soyam, Nayan Sudhir Khanzod, Shivam Vikas Raut, Dinesh Ramkrishna Pohankar, Amit Shankarrao Thakre, Amit Ade and Aryan Vaidya.Police said three of the injured were in critical condition. One of them is being shifted to Nagpur for further treatment.
The injured were rushed to nearby hospitals, where they are undergoing treatment.
Police and emergency response teams reached the spot soon after the accident and launched rescue operations.
A case has been registered and an investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the accident. Further details are awaited.UNI PK AAB

According to police, the alleged prime accused, identified as Iqbal Akbarali Shaikh alias Gautam Sunil Dutta (35), facilitated the entry of persons from Bangladesh into India and allegedly arranged identity documents, railway travel, accommodation and employment for them.
