Maha: Uddhav Sena asks Rane why he allowed rape & murder to occur while witnessing them

Mumbai, Sep 19 (UNI) Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena spokesperson Akhil Chitre today cited documents filed in the Bombay High Court in the Disha Salian death case and asked BJP leader and Maharashtra Minister of Ports Development Nitesh Rane if he allowed the alleged gangrape and murder to take place in his presence.
“Page number 233, point number 2 of the document dated January 12, 2024, filed by Satish Salian’s lawyers clearly states that eyewitnesses Narayan Rane (former Maharashtra Chief Minister and father of Ports Development Minister Nitesh Rane), MLA Nitesh Rane and others have alleged that Disha Salian’s death was not natural, but was gangraped and murdered. The question which arises is why did these eyewitnesses sit quietly while watching these atrocities take place right in front of them? Why did they not intervene,” he said here.
“This simply means that, according to Satish Salian’s lawyers, Narayan Rane and Nitesh Rane are direct eyewitnesses to the alleged atrocities and murder. This is legal evidence officially presented in court,” he said.
Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena spokesperson made the statement only a few hours before Disha Salian's father and his lawyers were scheduled to reach Uddhav Thackeray’s Bandra East ‘Matoshree’ residence at 4 pm, to personally hand deliver a Rs 500-crore legal defamation notice to MLA Aaditya Thackeray for allegedly making defamatory statements regarding the Disha Salian case.
Chitre further said that the question which arises is why did the eyewitnesses, namely Narayan Rane and his Minister son Nitesh Rane, did not try to stop the murder from taking place before their eyes.
“Why didn’t these prominent eyewitnesses make any effort to stop the murder of an innocent girl while they were watching it happen right before their eyes? Why did they not try to get any medical help? After witnessing such inhuman torture right in front of their eyes, what steps did they take to ensure that the victim received immediate medical help,” Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena spokesperson asked.
“Why didn’t you contact the police? If you claim to have witnessed this serious incident with your own eyes, then why didn’t you immediately contact the local police and provide information after the incident,” he said.
Chitre questioned how anybody who has witnessed such horrific atrocities and murder remain in a normal state of mind.
“How could the mental state of these eyewitnesses be so normal after witnessing such horrific atrocities and murders? Any normal human being would have been seriously affected. So how could these eyewitnesses walk around so normally? How many such murders have you been witnessed to? How many such atrocities and murders have these eyewitnesses seen with their own eyes in their entire lives,” Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena spokesperson asked.
“What is the psychology of a person who continues to behave completely normal even after witnessing such inhuman torture and murder,” Chitre wondered.
Quoting Minister of Ports Development Nitesh Rane’s statements to media persons, Chitre said, “Nitesh Rane was constantly shouting in front of the media that he has Aaditya Thackeray’s cellular phone tower location record on the day the incident took place. If you already had that evidence, then why did you have to apply in court to get Aaditya Thackeray’s cellular phone tower location record on that fateful day?”
“At the time when the alleged incident took place in 2020, Aaditya Thackeray was a state cabinet minister. As per protocol, the Mumbai police deploys 24-hour Z-plus security around ministers. So, while alleging that Aaditya Thackeray was present at the scene of the crime, is Rane also blaming the entire government security apparatus and the police who were with Aaditya Thackeray,” Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena spokesperson questioned.
Questioning Disha’s father Satish Salian’s latest stand, Chitre said that Satish Salian’s old media interview is available where he had said that he had no complaints against anyone regarding the incident and it was an accident.
“So, under whose pressure did Satish Salian suddenly change his stand after six years? The people must get an answer about whose political power and financial logistics are behind Satish Salian sending a Rs 500-crore legal notice to Aaditya Thackeray,” he added.
