Maxivision introduces advanced laser technology for vision correction in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Nov 2 (UNI) Maxivision Super Speciality Eye Hospitals has introduced SMILE Pro (VISUMAX 800), an advanced laser technology for correcting refractive errors such as short-sightedness and astigmatism, at its Somajiguda centre here on Monday.
Actor Nagarjuna Akkineni inaugurated the facility in the presence of Maxivision Chairman Dr GSK Velu, Founder and Chief Mentor Dr Kasu Prasad Reddy, Chief Clinical Officer Dr Varun Malhotra, Senior Cataract and Glaucoma Surgeon at the Somajiguda centre Dr Anitha C Kamarthy and other senior medical professionals.
The technology enables minimally invasive laser vision correction through a small incision without creating a flap in the cornea, the hospital said in a release.
The procedure is intended to correct myopia and astigmatism in patients found suitable following a comprehensive eye examination and clinical assessment.
The system requires less than 10 seconds of laser exposure and is associated with a shorter recovery period, according to the hospital. Treatment suitability will be determined by doctors after evaluating individual patients.
Dr Kasu Prasad Reddy said the introduction of the technology was part of the hospital's efforts to adopt advances in ophthalmology and improve access to specialised eye care.
Dr Varun Malhotra said the facility would expand the available options for laser vision correction and strengthen the hospital's clinical capabilities.
Maxivision claimed it was the first corporate eye care chain in Telangana to introduce the VISUMAX 800 technology.
The hospital network offers specialised services in cataract, retina, glaucoma and cornea care through more than 95 facilities across six States.

It has treated over six million patients since its establishment in 1996, the hospital said.
