The conference, titled “Financing India’s Journey towards Viksit Bharat”, will focus on strengthening policy coordination between the Centre and states while examining key financing challenges linked to India's long-term development objectives.
According to the Finance Ministry, the deliberations will combine academic perspectives with practical policymaking and seek to identify areas where Centre-state policy complementarities can support economic growth and development.

The discussions will be supported by background papers circulated among participants ahead of the conference. These papers cover a range of issues, including India's macroeconomic milestones and development pathways, private-sector financing, the implications of GST 2.0 for states, and financing agricultural markets and marketing.
The conference will also examine financing strategies for building resilience and promoting sustainable resource use in agriculture. In the energy sector, discussions will cover financing renewable energy and transmission infrastructure, along with carbon capture, utilisation and storage.
Apart from the three main sessions, senior government officials will highlight the role of data and technology in India's development process.
