Hyderabad, May 24 (UNI) The Miss World Organisation has strongly refuted recent reports in the British media concerning Miss England 2025, Milla Maggie, and her withdrawal from the ongoing 72nd Miss World Festival in India.
Julia Morley CBE, Chairwoman and CEO of the Miss World Organisation, issued an official statement addressing the situation.
According to Morley, Milla Maggie withdrew from the competition earlier this month due to a reported family emergency involving her mother’s health. Showing compassion and understanding, Morley promptly arranged for Milla’s return to England, placing the contestant’s family needs above all else.
Following Milla’s departure, Charlotte Grant, the first runner-up of Miss England 2025, stepped in to represent England at the Miss World Festival. Charlotte arrived in India on Wednesday and received a warm welcome from the Miss World community.
However, the Organisation expressed concern over what it described as "false and defamatory" statements recently published in the UK media, allegedly attributed to Milla Maggie, regarding her experience in India.
“These claims are completely unfounded and inconsistent with the reality of her time with us,” the Miss World Organisation stated.
To counter misinformation, the Organisation is releasing unedited video footage recorded during Milla’s stay in India. In the videos, Milla is seen expressing gratitude, joy, and appreciation for her experience at the Festival — sentiments that stand in direct contradiction to the negative reports.
Miss World reiterated its commitment to truth, dignity, and its core principle of Beauty With a Purpose, urging media outlets to verify facts and uphold journalistic integrity.
The Organisation concluded by reaffirming its dedication to providing a respectful and empowering platform for all participants.
