Sagar, June 22 (UNI) Four accused were arrested for murder of a youth from Dalit community in Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh, police said on Sunday.
Police sources said 28-year-old Omkar Ahirwar was killed in Devrichaudhary village on Saturday. The police arrested the four accused - Vrindavan Yadav, Jugraj Yadav, Umesh Yadav, and Vishal Yadav, in connection with the murder, which was allegedly committed over an old dispute.
The incident occurred when the accused allegedly surrounded Omkar Ahirwar and attacked him with sharp-edged weapons, resulting in his death.
The police have seized the weapons used in the murder from the accused. A case has been registered against them under sections related to murder and the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, among others.
The accused were produced before a special judge and legal proceedings were initiated. UNI XC AKT SSP
