Naveen Jindal vows to make Shahabad hockey stadium among country’s best facilities

Panchkula, Sept 28 (UNI) Kurukshetra MP Naveen Jindal on Monday said he is committed to developing the Shahabad hockey stadium into one of the country’s best facilities and assured coaches, parents and sports enthusiasts that every possible effort would be made to modernise the stadium and improve facilities for players.
During his visit to Shahabad, Jindal said, “I am fully committed to making the Shahabad hockey stadium the best hockey stadium in the country.”
He said efforts would be made to provide modern infrastructure and better facilities to players at the stadium. Shahabad has long been known for producing hockey talent, particularly women players.
Jindal also announced that registration had begun for the Sansad Khel Mahotsav, aimed at identifying and nurturing young sporting talent across the Kurukshetra Lok Sabha constituency.
He appealed to players from the constituency to register for the event by contacting the helpline 98960-90009.
According to the announced schedule, the first phase of the sports festival will be held at the Assembly constituency level from November 1 to 20, 2026, while the second phase will be organised at the Lok Sabha constituency level from December 7 to 16. The closing ceremony is scheduled for December 16.
The event is being organised under the theme “Fit Yuva for Viksit Bharat”, with players getting an opportunity to compete first at the Assembly constituency level before progressing to the parliamentary constituency-level competitions.UNI KK AAB
