Majhi, Patnaik condole deaths of eight Odias in MP accident

Bhubaneswar, Sep 19 (UNI) Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik on Saturday condoled the deaths of eight Odias, including three children, who were killed after the car they were travelling in was swept away by a rain-swollen stream in Madhya Pradesh's Agar Malwa district.
The accident occurred near the Maa Baglamukhi Temple in Nalkheda. The deceased, including two women and three men, were residents of Bhubaneswar.
Majhi expressed grief over the loss of lives and said he has directed officials to coordinate with the Madhya Pradesh government and local administration to expedite the necessary procedures and ensure that the mortal remains were brought back to Odisha with due dignity.
“The state government stands firmly with the bereaved families in this hour of grief,” Majhi said in a post on X.
Patnaik, who is also the BJD president, expressed deep sorrow over the deaths of the eight Odia devotees and conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families.
He prayed for the eternal peace of the departed souls.
