Tiger Shroff firing case: Bihar family refuses to identify arrested Hrithik Kumar

Patna, Oct 19 (UNI) The identity of a man arrested in connection with the firing incident targeting actor Tiger Shroff has come under scrutiny after a family in Bihar’s Begusarai district denied that he was their son, despite several personal details reportedly matching.
Acting on information received from Mumbai Police, Begusarai Police began verification and traced a family in Pipra village under Ratanpur police station. The name and address provided in the information matched those of the family.
Hrithik Kumar, 22, son of shopkeeper Ramu Mahto, lives in Mumbai. His family says his phone has been switched off for the past two days. However, despite the apparent match in name, address and other personal details, the family has refused to identify the man shown in photographs circulated by the police and on television as Hrithik.
Hrithik’s mother, Sanyukta Devi, maintained that although her son lives in Mumbai and the name matches, the arrested man is not him.
“My son lives in Mumbai, and although the name matches, my son is not that person. We are searching for him, and I request you media people to help search for him as well. That is all I ask and pray to you,” she said.
Sanyukta Devi added that the family had been unable to contact Hrithik since the previous day because his phone was switched off. She said he had been working as a cook in Mumbai.
The family’s denial has raised questions about the identity of the arrested man. While the details shared by Mumbai Police reportedly match those of Ramu Mahto’s family, the relatives insist that the person shown in the photographs is not their son.
It remains unclear whether the arrested man provided a false name and address or whether the family is reluctant to acknowledge him because of concerns about possible legal consequences. Neither possibility has been established, and the circumstances surrounding the identity mismatch remain unclear.
Begusarai Police has not issued an official statement on the matter so far. Police are continuing to gather information from the family as they seek to verify the arrested man’s identity.
