Two Bangladeshi women, including one posing as transgender, held in Meghalaya

Shillong, Sep 28 (UNI) Two suspected Bangladeshi women, including one who posed as transgender, were arrested by the Meghalaya Police after being intercepted by members of the Hynniewtrep Youths' Council (HYC) in a remote village near the India-Bangladesh border, police said on Monday.
The two suspected intruders were intercepted on a jungle route in Nongtrai village heading toward the Mawdon-Shella road in a vehicle bearing registration number ML 05 AC 5971, during a check by HYC members on Saturday
Police said the duo, identified as Jhinuk Hijrani (22), who claimed to be a resident of the Balurghat area in West Bengal's Dakshin Dinajpur district, and Priyanka Kumari (20), who claimed to be from the Ghazipur district in Uttar Pradesh, have been remanded to judicial custody.
