Guv reviews TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan progress in Arunachal

Itanagar, June 24 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh Governor (Retd) Lt General KT Parnaik reviewed the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan in a high-level meeting with State Tuberculosis Officers at Raj Bhavan here on Tuesday.
A communique from the Raj Bhavan said that the meeting focused on assessing progress, addressing challenges, and reinforcing strategies to eliminate tuberculosis from the state.
Emphasizing the national and humanitarian significance of the campaign, the Governor stated,
“This programme is a collective honour and responsibility. We must intensify our efforts and
adopt a mission-mode approach to make the Abhiyan a success.”
A committed Ni-kshay Mitra himself, Governor Parnaik has adopted TB patients across multiple districts, demonstrating personal dedication to the cause.
He urged officials to ensure that every TB patient is adopted, so they receive not only medical treatment but also nutritional and emotional support essential for a dignified recovery.
Highlighting his ongoing advocacy for a TB-free India, the Governor noted that he has been promoting the campaign during his interactions with Gaon Burahs, Panchayat leaders, and
local communities during his district visits.
He proposed 'TB Mukt Circle' and 'TB Mukt Village' competitions to drive awareness and
participation at the grassroots level.
Reiterating his appeal, the Governor called upon Ministers, MLAs, Deputy Commissioners, district officers, business leaders, and concerned citizens to step forward as Ni-kshay Mitras and play an active role in this national movement.
Expressing confidence in the unity and compassion of the people of Arunachal, the Governor said, with collective support, the state can contribute significantly to fulfilling the Prime Minister’s pledge
to the United Nations—to eliminate TB from India by 2025.
During the meeting, State Tuberculosis Officer Dr PD Thongchi, Assistant Programme Officer Dr Orik Apang, WHO Consultant (TB) Dr Nidhi Sumnyan, and IEC Officer Tare Bage briefed the Governor on the ongoing initiatives and impact of the Abhiyan in the state, the communique added.
