Bihar Congress to hold statewide protests against BJP on Oct 27

Patna, Oct 26 ( UNI) The Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee will organise protests across all districts of the state on October 27, against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), alleging that the ruling party at the Centre had misrepresented remarks made by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and subsequently staged protests and burnt effigies in an “indecent” manner against him.
Chairman of the party’s Media and Publicity Department in Bihar Ajay Kumar Paswan said here on Monday that the protests were aimed at opposing the BJP’s negative politics, violation of political propriety and disregard for democratic values.
He alleged that the BJP had distorted Kharge’s remarks and used them to mount politically inappropriate demonstrations against the Congress president.
Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee president Rajesh Ram has directed all district presidents, party office-bearers and workers to participate in the protests with unity, discipline and full strength, Paswan said.
The party has asked its district units to organise demonstrations and highlight among the public what it described as the BJP’s political approach and its implications for democratic norms.
