SCs, STs not getting participation in proportion to their population: Manjhi

Banka, June 15 (UNI) Patron of Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) and Union Minister, Jeetan Ram Manjhi, on
Sunday said SCs and STs were not getting enough participation in government services and politics, in proportion to their population.
Manjhi, while addressing the meeting of national council of his party here, said that SCs and STs were not getting participation even today, in government services and politics.
He exhorted all SCs and STs to remain alert and ensure that their names could be enrolled in voter's list, saying it was essential for them to play active role in democracy. Despite efforts made by successive governments at the Centre and also in states, condition of SCs and STs had not improved as visualised by our forefathers after Independence, he pointed out.
HAM leader said that his party was committed to work hard for protecting the interests of deprived sections of the society. Unless deprived sections of the society were not given ample opportunities for their development and prosperity, it would be difficult to achieve the goal of inclusive growth in true sense, he stated.
