Former Tripura CM urged voters to stand against any attempt of vote manipulation

Agartala, Sept 27 (UNI) Former Tripura Chief Minister and CPI(M) leader Manik Sarkar has urged his party members and supporters to stay united and stand firm against any attempt of wrongdoing, intimidation, or obstruction during tomorrow’s Village Committee elections under ADC.
In a message after conclusion of vocal campaign for the election, Sarkar alleged that there have been reports of intimidations and direct threat to the voters in various locations from the ruling TIPRA Motha party and BJP to abstain the opposition supporters from voting.
He alleged that the response of police and security forces were mostly guided by the ruling party cadres to make the most important grass root elections a fierce at the behest of the ruling dispensation, and added, “They know people of the country, especially the citizens of the BJP-ruled states feed up with the mal administration and undemocratic activities of the government and ready to throw out them.”
Sarkar advised party affiliates to be watchful at polling stations, ensuring voters can exercise their rights freely and without intimidation. He encouraged supporters to visit polling sites in groups and emphasized that any attempts to hinder voting or any attempt of irregularities should be collectively prevented.
Sarkar highlighted challenges faced by people in ADC areas, pointing out the need for increased public engagement and vigilance in the election process. Criticizing the BJP-led state government, raising concerns about unemployment, insufficient job opportunities, deteriorating road conditions, electricity issues, and alleged shortcomings in development projects.
