‘The Bombay Blood’ draws positive response at Pune screening

Pune, Oct 5 (UNI) Indo-German film 'The Bombay Blood', directed by Gaurav Hrishikesh Thakur, has received positive response from the audience during its screening held in Maharashtra.
After Nashik, the screening in Pune was a special stop on the film's India tour.
Produced by Neel Kothari, Thakur, and Daniel E. Pajak, the film stars an Indian and German cast including Dirk Bohling, Philipp Oliver Baumgarten, Katrin Ingendoh, Sabine Urban, Gaurav Thakur, Kashyap Parulekar, Mithun Ramdharne, and Kajal Raturi. The film was shot extensively in Germany.
A highlight of the Pune screening was the presence of Uday Bhende, son of Dr Y.M. Bhende, who discovered the rare Bombay blood group. Uday Bhende watched the film and expressed his delight at the honouring of his father's scientific legacy through cinema. Actor Mohan Agashe was also present.
Thakur said that screening the film in various cities has been an extremely encouraging experience. Meeting Uday Bhende in Pune was special, and his connection to the story, inspired by his father's legacy, was a memorable experience for the team.
Kothari said the response from various cities convinced him that it was important to bring this story to audiences. He added that Uday Bhende's presence and involvement with the film were very special for the team.
Apart from the narrative and performances, the film has also drawn appreciation for its sound design and technical work. Following screenings in Nashik and Pune, the film is touring India and connecting with audiences in other cities across Maharashtra.
