Kejriwal demands CEC Gyanesh Kumar’s arrest, fresh polls over ‘vote chori’ allegations

New Delhi, Sep 23 (UNI) Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday demanded the arrest and prosecution of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, alleging that the Election Commission’s handling of electoral rolls amounted to a massive “vote chori” scam and called for fresh elections in several states.
Kejriwal’s attack came after “The Indian Express” reported that Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi had recorded objections at least 14 times over the past 10 months to decisions and orders they said were issued without their knowledge or the approval of the three-member poll panel. Their objections included changes to voter-registration Form 6, deletion and restoration of names and the centralisation of voter database access.
Calling the revelations the “biggest scandal in independent India”, Kejriwal alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and union Home Minister Amit Shah had benefited from “vote theft” and described Kumar as the alleged “mastermind” behind it.

New Delhi, Sep 26 (UNI) The Centre has notified October 1 as the date from which Employees’ State Insurance-related contribution and benefit provisions will take effect in the entire areas of 15 previously non-implemented and 16 partially implemented districts of Gujarat, according to a Labour Ministry notification.
The Ministry of Labour and Employment, through notification S.O. 5310(E) dated September 25, said contributions from employers and employees of establishments in the specified areas will become payable under Section 29 of the Code on Social Security, 2020 from October 1.
