New Delhi, Oct 1 (UNI) Stepping up measures to address the issue of air pollution in the national capital, with the crucial winter months approaching, the Delhi government has combined source identification, analysis and inter-departmental coordination on a single platform. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated the national capital’s Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) at the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation’s IT Park, as part of the ongoing Seva Sankalp Abhiyan.
This special facility will enable better identification of pollution sources and plan appropriate coordinated action on them.
The ICCC is expected to strengthening the city’s fight against air pollution through technology, data and faster action based on accurate and quick analysis.
The centre will enable real-time monitoring, pollution hotspot identification, data-driven analysis and inter-departmental coordination amongst different agencies concerned, and make things better.
CM Gupta stated that her government has been working to address the pollution issue since assuming office. She called the ICCC another major step in this direction, adding that the facility will use AI-driven cameras to monitor the pollution situation.
Gupta said that clean air in Delhi is a matter connected to the health of every family and the future of coming generations. She assured that her government is working 365 days, 24×7, with complete force on every source of pollution.
The ICCC uses advanced technology, also AI and advanced analytics to pinpoint sources of pollution, and active hotspots that are the major contributors in the city.
This time the government is going to further tighten its noose on non-compliant vehicles, and those with invalid pollution control certificates will not be given fuel at pumps across the city.
It is said that the command centre will also play crucial role as the nerve centre for all the tech- enabled measures like the Automatic Number Plate Recognition cameras (ANPR), that have been installed to identify non- compliant vehicles running on the roads. The No PUC No fuel is more strictly going to be executed across the national capital.
