Congress stages protest seeking removal of CEC Gyanesh Kumar

New Delhi, 25 Sep (UNI) A large number of Congress workers staged a massive protest near the Election Commission office in the city, demanding the removal of CEC Gyanesh Kumar, as well as a comprehensive and independent review of all decisions and changes made in the electoral rolls during his tenure.
The Congress workers, led by Delhi unit chief Devender Yadav, gathered at the Delhi Congress office and proceeded towards Nirvachan Sadan; however, the cops blocked them with barricades half way.
Many Congress workers were detained by the police, as they refused to step back, and were taken to the police station before being released.
Yadav said, "Thousands of Congress workers are protesting here demanding the arrest and resignation of Gyanesh Kumar. I want to warn the Modi Government that Congress workers are fearless, and the more of them are stopped, the numbers would keep adding."
He said that the Congress protest will continue till Kumar is removed from his post
The party would not tolerate any attempt to undermine democracy by the poll panel at the behest of the BJP, as it has been 'deleting and adding names' to the voter list wrongfully, he added.

New Delhi, Sep 26 (UNI) The Centre has notified October 1 as the date from which Employees’ State Insurance-related contribution and benefit provisions will take effect in the entire areas of 15 previously non-implemented and 16 partially implemented districts of Gujarat, according to a Labour Ministry notification.
The Ministry of Labour and Employment, through notification S.O. 5310(E) dated September 25, said contributions from employers and employees of establishments in the specified areas will become payable under Section 29 of the Code on Social Security, 2020 from October 1.
