Haryana Guest Teachers intensify stir, seek regularisation of 10,757 teachers after 21 years of service

Panchkula, Oct 24 (UNI) The Guest Teachers Joint Struggle Front, Haryana, has stepped up its demand for the regularisation of 10,757 guest teachers who, it says, have been serving in government schools for the past 21 years, urging the state government to initiate the process without further delay under the three-year policy framed in 2014.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Front state president Krishan Dharshul said the teachers had continued to discharge their responsibilities despite prolonged uncertainty over their service status, contributing to the education of students in government schools across Haryana.
He called on the government to respect the spirit of the court order dated May 25, and take concrete steps towards regularisation.
“The government must move beyond assurances and take a clear, time-bound decision on the future of 10,757 guest teachers and their families,” Dharshul said, demanding that the Education Department be directed to complete the process transparently and without unnecessary delay.
The Front stated that departmental personal hearings in cases concerning guest teachers had been completed, but a final decision on regularisation was still awaited.
It urged the authorities to expedite the pending matters and provide clarity on the teachers’ service status, maintaining that prolonged uncertainty had left affected teachers and their families waiting for a resolution.
Front state spokesperson Kuldeep Jharoli said the organisation launched a Nyay Yatra from Sirsa on October 21 to mobilise support for the regularisation demand. The march is scheduled to reach Kurukshetra on October 25, where a state-level justice rally will bring together guest teachers from across Haryana.
The rally will press the government to implement the 2014 policy and initiate concrete action on regularisation. Following the rally, the teachers plan to proceed towards Chandigarh on foot alongside the Nyay Rath and submit their demands to the Governor.
Dharshul said the movement was aimed at securing a decision on a long-pending service-related issue and urged the government to address the demand through a clear and transparent process. The Front maintained that it would continue its democratic agitation until the matter was resolved.
The organisation appealed to guest teachers across Haryana to participate in the Kurukshetra rally and make their demand heard. It reiterated that the immediate priority was to begin the regularisation process for the 10,757 teachers and bring an end to the prolonged uncertainty surrounding their service status.
