IACC-led US delegation meets UP minister, officials for global partnership

Lucknow, Sep 15 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh Government is strengthening global partnerships to unlock new opportunities across healthcare, life sciences and agriculture-linked sectors.
A 23-member US business delegation, led by the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC) in association with the US Foreign Commercial Service, held a series of discussions with the state government on investment, technology partnerships and pilot projects.
The delegation explored opportunities in advanced diagnostics, medical devices, digital health and AI, pharmaceuticals, healthcare infrastructure, R&D and medical-device manufacturing.
Discussions also covered precision livestock farming, AI-based animal health monitoring, advanced breeding, dairy and fisheries. The engagement highlights Uttar Pradesh’s focus on technology-driven innovation, investment and productivity across healthcare and allied sectors.
Representatives of Novartis, Johnson & Johnson, Abbott, GE, PepsiCo and Roche were part of the delegation. Discussions focused on identifying areas where US technology and investment could address public healthcare needs and improve productivity and incomes in the farm and allied sectors.
The delegation met UP Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, senior ministers and officials, even as a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the Uttar Pradesh Promote Pharma Council (UPPPC) and the IACC.
The MoU between UPPPC and IACC establishes a structured framework for investment facilitation, technology transfer, R&D, manufacturing, public-private partnerships and government-industry engagement through a joint working group and nodal officers.
The delegation, which included representatives of 17 companies, explored enhanced India-UP-US collaboration in healthcare, food processing, horticulture, animal husbandry, dairy and fisheries.
The delegation also met UP Horticulture Minister Dinesh Pratap Singh; Chief Advisor to the Chief Minister Awanish Awasthi; Advisor (Pharma) to the Chief Minister Dr GN Singh; Additional Chief Secretary, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Dairy Development, Mukesh Meshram; Principal Secretary, Planning & IT, Alok Kumar; Secretary (Planning), Raj Shekhar; Additional Chief Secretary, Horticulture & Agriculture, BL Meena; and Secretary, Agro and Food Processing, Rajkamal Yadav.
IACC Chairman Mukesh Singh shared perspectives on strengthening India-US cooperation. Rahul Sharma, MD, USIBC, and Principal Commercial Officer, US Commercial Service, Xiaobing Feng, highlighted opportunities for deeper engagement. UNI MBD AAB
