Special campaign organized in UP to include names of all eligible citizens in voter list

Lucknow, Oct 17 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Navdeep Rinwa said that a special campaign was organized at all polling stations across the state today to include the names of eligible citizens and first-time voters who were left out of the voter list for the Assembly constituencies.
Under this campaign, Form-6 was filled out to include the names of eligible citizens, especially women and youth, in the voter list.
To ensure the effective implementation and transparency of this campaign, the Chief Electoral Officer personally inspected the polling station at St. Agnes Loreto Day School, Station Road, in the 175-Lucknow Cantt Assembly Constituency, and the polling station at Sanskrit Vidyapeeth Vishal Khand, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow, in the 174-Lucknow Central Assembly Constituency. In the districts, the District Electoral Officer, Deputy District Electoral Officer, Electoral Registration Officer, and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers also conducted on-site inspections of various polling stations.
The Chief Electoral Officer stated that during the inspection, the Booth Level Officers and the citizens present at the booths interacted with the attendees. The quality of the work performed by the Booth Level Officers was assessed. It was also ensured that the BLOs were present at the booths on time with the voter list, supplementary list, and a sufficient number of Form-6s. In addition, Form-6 applications were submitted by the polling station for eligible citizens whose names have not yet been included in the list for some reason.
He explained that the objective of the special campaign is to ensure the voter list is as accurate, up-to-date, and error-free as possible, so that no eligible citizen is excluded from inclusion. In accordance with the Election Commission of India's vision, ensuring the participation of every eligible citizen is essential for strengthening democracy. He explained that increasing the state's electoral ratio and gender ratio is possible only through public awareness and public participation. The Commission is continuously making active efforts in this direction. The cooperation of booth-level agents appointed by recognized political parties is also essential in this work.
Rinwa has appealed to all voters in the state to check their names and those of their family members in the voter list of their respective booths during the special campaign to be held on October 24. If their names are missing, fill out Form 6 and submit it to their BLO.
