Boycott movie, but demand to revoke Diljit's citizenship absurd: BJP

Chandigarh, June 28 (UNI) Amid 'Sardarji 3' controversy, RP Singh, a national spokesman for the BJP, has termed the demand to revoke the citizenship of actor Diljit Dosanjh as "absurd."
Singh, in a late Friday night X post said that Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) demanding Diljit Dosanjh's citizenship be revoked was absurd. He said the film was shot before the Phalgam attack.
"Boycott it if needed — but don’t vilify a national asset," Singh said, adding that, "TV anchors invite Pakistanis for TRPs daily. Do we question their patriotism? Let’s not weaponize nationalism," he said.
'Sardarji 3' was released outside India on Friday due to controversy surrounding the movie for the presence of Pakistani actress Hania Amir in the movie's cast.
