UP food businesses face tighter compliance checks on licences, hygiene and temperature records

Lucknow, Oct 3 (UNI) Food establishments in Uttar Pradesh will have to meet a range of compliance requirements covering licences, hygiene, food storage, temperature control, pest -control and record-keeping under guidelines issued by the state's Food Safety and Drug Administration department.
The department said the measures were aimed at ensuring safe, hygienic and quality food for consumers and apply to food businesses across the state.
Businesses must obtain the appropriate Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) licence or registration based on the nature of their operations and display the licence, registration and food safety display board at a prominent location.
