Panchkula pushes Abha IDs to expand digital health access, officials asked to enrol families

Panchkula, Oct 1 (UNI) The Panchkula administration on Thursday stepped up efforts to expand digital health coverage under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, asking government officials and employees to create ABHA IDs for themselves and their family members.
A workshop on the Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) ID was organised at the Mini Secretariat under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Satpal Sharma to familiarise officials with the digital health system and its benefits.
Sharma said the ABHA ID had been developed as a citizen's digital health identity, enabling digital maintenance of health records and facilitating better access to healthcare services.
“The ABHA ID will help keep health-related information organised digitally and make healthcare services more accessible,” the Deputy Commissioner said while urging officials to create IDs for themselves and their families.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Vivek Arya also asked officers and employees attending the workshop to enrol for ABHA IDs and make use of digital health services.
ABHA Joint Director Kirti Sharma said the awareness programme aimed to connect officials and citizens with the digital health ecosystem and encourage them to maintain their health records digitally.
Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr Manish said the system facilitates secure digital health records, easier access to health services and convenient sharing of health information, besides supporting better and safer healthcare.
Officials attending the workshop were briefed on the process and benefits of ABHA IDs and encouraged to make greater use of digital health services.
SDM Mannat Rana, City Magistrate Jagriti, Tehsildar Suresh Kumar and officials from the health, education, women and child development, social welfare, police, forest, public works, municipal and fisheries departments, among others, attended the workshop.
