Group of four terrorists active in Basantgarh area: Jammu IGP

Jammu, June 26 (UNI) Inspector General of Police Jammu Zone Bhim Sen Tuti today said that a group of four terrorists is believed to be active for the last one year in Basantgarh area of Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir.
A gunfight erupted between terrorists and security forces this morning in remote village of Basantgarh.
Officials said that acting on tip-off about the movement of terrorists, a joint team of police and Army launched a search operation in the general area of Sazi, near Karoor Nallah in Basantgarh.

He was addressing a public gathering in Tapkara, Jashpur district, where he inaugurated a new tehsil office and announced the town’s elevation to Nagar Panchayat status, measures aimed at deepening administrative outreach in the region.

Patwari suspended in Bharatmala land scam found hanging, Congress demands CBI probe

Raipur, June 28 (UNI) Suresh Kumar Mishra, a 62-year-old patwari suspended in connection with an alleged land compensation scam under the Bharatmala Pariyojana, was found dead this afternoon at a farmhouse in Joki village under Sakri police jurisdiction. He was due to retire on June 30.
