BJP will make Punjab drug-free if voted to power, says Haryana minister Panwar

Panchkula, Oct 21(UNI) Haryana Cabinet Minister Krishan Lal Panwar on Wednesday said the BJP would make Punjab drug-free if voted to power, and rejected the Congress's criticism of the Haryana government’s performance, saying the opposition lacked substantive issues.
“If a BJP government is formed in Punjab, we will make the state drug-free,” Panwar said, promising effective action against the drug menace.
The minister was speaking to reporters in Panchkula, where he had arrived to chair a meeting of the District Public Relations and Grievances Redressal Committee. Rajya Sabha MP Rekha Sharma and administrative officials were also present.
Responding to questions about Congress seeking an account of promises made to voters as the Haryana government completed two years in office, Panwar defended its record.
“The government has done good work in the past two years. Congress is raising questions because it has no concrete issue,” he said.
On Congress allegations over law and order, Panwar said the party should first examine its own tenure and record before questioning the BJP government.
