Unreserved special express train to run between Srinagar-Katra on Nov 5 & 6

Jammu, Nov 4 (UNI) The Northern Railway's Jammu Division has made special and comprehensive arrangements in view of the heavy rush at railway stations during the festive season of Diwali and Chhath Puja.
An official spokesperson in a statement said that the main objective of these special arrangements is to provide safe, smooth and comfortable travel to passengers during the festivals and to ensure punctual running of trains.
For this, special monitoring is being done by senior officers to run trains as per the scheduled time-table and to maintain their punctuality.
To control crowd management and security, additional members of Ticket Checking Staff, Railway Protection Force, Government Railway Police and Scouts and Guides have been deployed at all major stations of Jammu Division, especially at Jammu Tawi Railway Station, so that passengers get proper guidance on the platforms, he said.
Along with this, he added that strict round-the-clock monitoring is being done through the CCTV Control Room at the entry and exit gates, platforms, foot over bridges, circulating area and waiting halls of the stations. Officers of all departments are also giving necessary instructions to their respective staff from time to time.
So that passengers do not have to stand in long queues to buy tickets, apart from opening additional ticket counters at all stations, 'ATVM Facilitators' have been arranged at ATVM machines. In addition, passengers are being continuously guided to use UTS Mobile Ticketing and the new 'RailOne App', he added.
Jammu Division has appealed to all esteemed passengers not to carry any inflammable material or firecrackers while travelling, as doing so is a legal offence and a major danger to the safety of fellow passengers.
However, the Northern Railway's Jammu Division has also decided to run Unreserved Special Express Train between Srinagar-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra - Srinagar in view of the extra rush of passengers during the festive season.
