Durga Shakti teams deployed outside Palwal schools, colleges

Palwal, Oct 27 (UNI) Palwal police have deployed women personnel and Durga Shakti patrol teams around major schools, colleges and other educational institutions to strengthen the safety of female students, a police official said on Tuesday.
The deployment forms part of a special security campaign launched on the directions of Superintendent of Police Deepti Garg.
The teams will patrol sensitive locations around educational institutions during class hours and breaks.
Police said legal action would be taken against people involved in harassment or creating disturbances in public places.
“Ensuring the safety of female students and strengthening their confidence is a primary responsibility of the police,” Garg said.
She urged students to report any untoward incident or suspicious activity without hesitation through the women’s helpline, 1091, or Dial 112.
“Prompt action will be ensured on such reports,” she said.
The campaign aims to provide students with a safe environment and improve police presence around educational institutions, the official added.
