Haryana pitches itself as technology, investment hub for Singapore firms

Chandigarh, Oct 5 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Monday urged Singaporean companies to set up technology and professional capability centres in the state, pitching its location, industrial infrastructure and connectivity as key advantages for investors seeking access to north India's major markets.
Saini made the pitch at an event organised under the Singapore India Network for Growth (SING) forum in Singapore, where discussions focused on expanding economic and institutional cooperation between Haryana and Singapore. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai was also present.
Highlighting Haryana's proximity to major consumption and manufacturing centres, Saini said the state was well connected through economic corridors, expressways and freight networks.
“Haryana is strategically located amidst key consumption and manufacturing markets of North India. We possess major economic corridors, expressways and freight connectivity,” Saini said.
He called on Singaporean businesses to use Haryana as a base for technology-intensive and professional operations.
“Singaporean companies should establish their technology and professional capability centres in Haryana,” he said.
Saini said the state was seeking investment that would bring not only capital but also technology, skilled employment and innovation.
“Our goal is to create an ecosystem where businesses flourish while simultaneously generating opportunities for employment and innovation,” he said.
The chief minister also highlighted Haryana's efforts to deepen cooperation with Singapore in education, saying the state had recently partnered with a Singapore-based global school group.
The initiative, he said, was aimed at developing world-class K-12 educational infrastructure in Haryana.
The Singapore engagement is part of Haryana's effort to attract overseas investment and build partnerships in technology, education and other high-value sectors, with the state government seeking to leverage its location in the National Capital Region and its industrial and logistics network to draw global companies.
