Visakhapatnam: 3 killed, 14 injured as lorry rams vehicles at traffic signal in Parawada

Visakhapatnam, June 24 (UNI) In a ghastly road accident, three persons were killed and 14 persons injured, five of them seriously, when a lorry ploughed through some cars, two-wheelers and pedestrians when they were waiting at a traffic signal light at Parawada, near here, on Tuesday.



Police said that when the two-wheelers, cars and other vehicles were waiting at the Lankelapalem crossroads traffic signal, a speeding lorry, going to Anakapalli from Gajuwada, ploughed through them, killing three persons and injuring 14 persons.



The deceased were identified as Pacchikura Gandhi (52), Konathala Atchanaidu (55) and Yarrappadu (55). Seven of the injured were admitted to the GGH in Aganampudi, and seven were admitted to the GGH in Anakapalli. The condition of five of the injured is said to be critical. The lorry driver is absconding.
