NO party except Congress cared for welfare of farmers: Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka

Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka asserted that no political party in the country, except the Congress, has genuinely worked for or cared about the welfare of farmers.
Bhatti said, "Only the Congress has implemented transformative initiatives for farmers—from building multi-purpose irrigation projects and providing free electricity, to ensuring minimum support prices and facilitating bank loans.
Landmark programmes like the Green Revolution were also pioneered under Congress leadership to double agricultural productivity."
Declaring that "agriculture means Congress", Bhatti emphasised that no other government has come as close to the farming community as Congress has. He highlighted that within just nine days, the Congress government in Telangana deposited Rs 9,000 crore into the accounts of farmers.
Terming the day as "a moment that will be written in golden letters in the history of the country," the Deputy CM recalled a similar historic step under former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi's leadership. Rs 9,000 crore was credited into the accounts of 70 lakh farmers through a collective cabinet decision.
Paying tribute to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, Bhatti said, “He sacrificed his life for the country and dreamt of ushering India into the 21st century through transformative progress.”
He further noted that within three months of coming to power, the Congress government in Telangana had waived off Rs 21,000 crore worth of farm loans.
Additionally, the government is now depositing Rs 12,000 annually into the accounts of landless farmers and agricultural labourers.
Bhatti accused the previous government of neglecting farmers, stating that it deposited only meagre funds under the Rythu Bandhu scheme while discontinuing critical benefits such as interest-free loans, drip irrigation, sprinklers, crop bonuses, and compensation for crop loss.
"The Congress government, upon taking charge, launched a comprehensive farmer loan waiver, reintroduced drip and sprinkler irrigation systems, ensured compensation for crop loss, and began distributing modern farming equipment," he said, adding that no other government in the state has provided such holistic support to farmers.
Referring to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s announcement on June 16 at the Agriculture University, Bhatti said the promise to deposit Rs 9,000 crore under the Rythu Bharosa scheme in nine days had been fulfilled. He described the massive farmer-centric programme celebrated on June 24 as a "festival of farmers," and urged the public to bless the Congress government for its sincere efforts.

The meeting was attended by TPCC President A. Revanth Reddy, Ministers, MLAs, MLCs, senior officials, and a large number of farmers. The event was also telecast live across 1,600 Rythu Nestham Centres across the state.
