AP: Approvals accorded for Rs 661 Cr. worth Assembly building construction

Vijayawada, Sep 18 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh government has accorded administrative approval of Rs 661 crore for inviting tenders for the construction of a 250-metre-high iconic Assembly building in Amaravati, Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister P. Narayana said on Friday.
Addressing a media conference at the AP Secretariat, the Minister explained the decisions taken at the 66th CRDA Authority meeting chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu today.
He said administrative approvals had also been given for inviting tenders worth Rs 1,548 crore for various infrastructure works in all 29 villages of the capital region. The works include enhancing water pipeline capacity to provide 135 litres per person per day, laying link drainage pipelines and taking up works under the Negotiated Settlement Policy (NSP).
The government has also permitted reputed private educational institutions to establish schools in the capital region. As part of this initiative, five acres of land has been allotted to Nalanda Educational Institutions at Krishnayapalem. The school is expected to be completed within 18 months, the Minister said.
On the second phase of land pooling, Narayana said farmers would be paid an annuity amount of Rs 50,000 per acre for fertile jaribu land and Rs 40,000 for non-jaribu land. Farmers who had contributed less than one acre during the 2014–19 land pooling process were earlier being paid Rs 30,000 per acre.
Following requests from farmers under the second phase of land pooling, the CRDA Authority had approved an annuity amount of Rs 40,000 for them as well, he said. The Minister expressed confidence that revenue-related issues would be resolved by the end of October and that 80 per cent of the land pooling process would be completed.
