Over 150 women trained in two-wheeler riding under ‘RB For Women’ initiative in Kochi

Kochi, Sep 19 (UNI) More than 150 women participated in a two-wheeler riding training programme organised by Royal Brothers, in partnership with Moto Business Service India (MBSI), a subsidiary of Yamaha Motor, Japan, in Kochi on Saturday.
The latest edition of the ‘RB For Women’ initiative was aimed at promoting personal mobility and independence among women by providing training in handling automatic, gearless scooters for daily city travel as well as geared motorcycles.
The participants received hands-on training from professional instructors in low-speed balancing, throttle control, emergency braking and defensive riding techniques. They were provided safety gear and trained on vehicles supplied by MBSI to Royal Brothers in a supportive environment.
At the end of the programme, the participants received certificates of completion and practical training aimed at enabling them to ride safely in urban traffic.
The initiative has so far trained more than 1,500 women across India, according to Royal Brothers. The company commenced operations in Kerala this year and is currently present in four cities in the state.
Royal Brothers Co-Founder and CEO Abhishek Chandrashekar said the participation of more than 150 women in Kochi reflected the energy and determination of those seeking greater mobility independence.
He said the partnership with MBSI enabled the company to provide access to safe and reliable two-wheelers and supported its mission of expanding access to mobility over ownership across India.
MBSI CEO and Managing Director Kobayashi Masaharu said the ‘RB For Women’ initiative went beyond teaching women to ride two-wheelers and sought to address social barriers to mobility.
MBSI's mission was to improve quality of life through accessible and sustainable mobility, and supporting women's empowerment initiatives could create avenues for economic self-sufficiency and personal freedom, he said.
Royal Brothers said its local franchise model also aimed to empower grassroots entrepreneurs and create employment opportunities in local communities.
The company said two-wheeler mobility could provide women with greater flexibility for daily commuting, errands, work and entrepreneurial activities, while helping expand access to independent mobility.
