AP: Govt. releases Rs 2,692 Cr. for disbursement of NTR Bharosa pensions

Amaravati, Sept 28 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh government has assured timely delivery of NTR Bharosa social security pensions, announcing that door-to-door distribution will begin at 6.30 a.m. on October 1 as per the usual schedule, despite earlier concerns over bank staff strike disruptions.
Minister for MSME, Rural Poverty Eradication and NRI Empowerment Kondapalli Srinivas said in a statement on Monday that banking operations face no hindrance following the withdrawal of the strike, and all arrangements for pension disbursement are complete under the pre-decided plan.
“The government has already released Rs 2,692.34 crore for the month of October. This amount, Rs 2,692.28 crore has been credited to Panchayat/Ward accounts, while Rs 6 lakh will be deposited via DBT into the accounts of NSAP pensioners in the Gajapathinagaram Mandal,” Minister Srinivas revealed.
The Minister announced that with bank employees calling off their strike and banking operations proceeding without disruption, all necessary arrangements for pension distribution have been completed according to the original plan.
He stated that 'Swarna Gramam' and 'Swarna Ward' staff would withdraw the full pension amount from banks on September 30 and begin visiting beneficiaries' homes to distribute the cash starting from the morning of October 1.
The Minister directed officials to coordinate with District Project Directors (PDs), MPDOs, Municipal Commissioners, the SLBC and bankers to ensure the necessary cash is ready by the 30th of this month and made it clear that the government has taken the responsibility of ensuring timely pension disbursement on the 1st of every month to the 61.80 lakh pensioners across the state.
