Visakhapatnam Collector Asks Officials to Ensure Complete Resolution of PGRS Petitions

Visakhapatnam, Sept 28 (UNI) District Collector M. Abhishikth Kishore on Monday directed officials of various departments to ensure complete resolution of petitions received under the Public Grievance Redressal System (PGRS) and prevent the same complaints from being reopened.
Addressing a review meeting on PGRS, the Collector said officials must identify the root cause of each grievance and take appropriate action to resolve it rather than merely closing the petition.
He stressed that providing quality services to the public was the primary responsibility of government officials.
He also instructed officials to issue an endorsement to the complainant after resolving the grievance, ensuring that the petitioner was informed of the action taken.
Following the review meeting, the Collector participated in the PGRS programme and received 268 petitions concerning various public issues.
Of these, 14 petitions related to the Revenue Clinic, 58 to the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC), 31 to the Police Department and 165 to other departments.
Joint Collector G. Vidhyadhari and other officials attended the meeting.
