Govt working to expand IT sector to tier-2 cities, create jobs: Sridhar Babu

Hyderabad, Sep 11 (UNI) Telangana IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu on Friday said the state government was making concerted efforts to attract IT companies to Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities and create more employment opportunities for local youth.
Replying to questions during Question Hour in the Legislative Assembly, Sridhar Babu said the government was particularly focusing on cities such as Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Warangal, Adilabad, Mahabubnagar and Nalgonda. He said the government had been approaching major companies, including Cognizant, Capgemini, Wipro, Microsoft, Tech Mahindra, TCS, Oracle, Infosys and HCL, to establish operations in these cities.
Regarding the Nizamabad IT Hub, the Minister said 15 companies had already arrived and employment opportunities for 338 people were being created, while efforts were underway to attract additional companies. He said the government was also working to bring an anchor partner to ensure the viability and expansion of IT hubs.
