Adilabad airport project to be fast-tracked, nodal officers to be appointed

New Delhi/Hyderabad, Sep 12 (UNI) The Adilabad airport project is set to be fast-tracked with the Centre and Telangana government deciding to appoint nodal officers from the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Civil Aviation and the state government by next week to ensure coordinated implementation of the joint-user airport.
The decision was taken at a meeting held today with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu to review the progress of the proposed airport in Adilabad, a region of commercial and strategic importance.
The meeting also decided to expedite the preparation of the Detailed Project Report (DPR) and master plan for the project. The airport is expected to significantly improve air connectivity in North Telangana and benefit people across the erstwhile Adilabad district.
