CISF trains fourth batch of women QRT commandos in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Oct 29 (UNI) The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has completed the fourth batch of its Aviation Security (APS) Women Quick Response Team (QRT) course in Bengaluru, strengthening the deployment of women personnel in specialised frontline security roles at sensitive installations.
The valedictory function was held at the 10th Reserve Battalion in Bengaluru and presided over by DIG M G Raghavendra of the APSZ Headquarters, Chennai.
The 10th Reserve Battalion has been designated as a specialised training centre for women QRT commandos. The trainees underwent intensive indoor and outdoor training in advanced operational tactics, intervention skills and combat readiness to enhance their ability to respond to security threats.
The successful completion of the course is expected to further strengthen CISF's specialised response capabilities at sensitive installations.
CISF has been expanding the participation of women personnel in specialised operational assignments. Women QRTs have been deployed at critical, high-footfall establishments, including the international airports in Delhi and Mumbai and the Delhi Metro network.
The force has a women personnel representation of around nine per cent, the highest among the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), according to the CISF.
As part of its expansion plans, the force is also developing a dedicated women battalion at Nuh in Haryana, with a proposed strength of 1,024 personnel. The battalion is envisaged to be headed by a woman officer of the rank of Senior Commandant.
The deployment of trained women QRT commandos is aimed at strengthening security preparedness and improving responsiveness at public infrastructure facilities frequented by women passengers and commuters.
The initiative also reflects CISF's efforts to expand women's participation in demanding operational assignments and provide them greater opportunities in specialised security roles.
