Medak MP Raghunandan Rao receives fresh death threats from Maoists

Hyderabad, June 29 (UNI) Medak MP and senior BJP leader Raghunandan Rao, who is currently undergoing treatment for a leg injury at Yashoda Hospital has, has reportedly received fresh death threats from Maoists.

The latest threats came just days after he received a threatening phone call on June 23, following which he had filed a complaint with the Telangana DGP, as well as the Sangareddy and Medak SPs.

After a preliminary investigation, authorities provided him with an escort vehicle and armed security personnel for protection.

However, two days ago, while the MP was recuperating at the hospital, he received further threatening messages from two new phone numbers: 9489556347 and 7365035440.
The callers claimed they were part of five Maoist teams sent to assassinate him, allegedly acting
on orders from the Andhra Pradesh Maoist Committee.

The callers also claimed that they were using internet-based calls to avoid detection, and warned
that they would not spare him under any circumstances.

MP Raghunandan Rao has since filed another police complaint from the hospital, urging authorities
to take stringent action.

The police are investigating the matter, treating it with high priority due to the sensitive nature of the threat and the security risk involved.
