Bandi Sanjay highlights Rs 840 cr Karimnagar projects, targets Congress over politics

Karimnagar, Sep 30 (UNI) union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar said foundation stones had been laid for various urban development projects in Karimnagar with Urban Challenge Fund (UCF) allocations of Rs 840 crore, covering waste management, remediation of old garbage dump yards, riverfront development, urban transport, drainage improvements, rehabilitation and flood-mitigation infrastructure.
Speaking to the media at the Karimnagar Collectorate, Bandi Sanjay said several key projects had also been inaugurated. These include the Central Library, constructed at Rs 5.70 crore under the Smart City Mission; the Integrated Command Control Centre and DRF building, costing Rs 16.50 crore; and the Integrated Market at Kashmiri Gadda, built at a cost of Rs 6.50 crore.
He said a foundation stone had been laid for stormwater drains at a cost of Rs 21 crore and for a multi-level car parking facility at Tower Circle, estimated at Rs 25 crore, aimed at addressing parking problems in the city.
He alleged that the Congress was attempting to divide society and urged the Chief Minister to make responsible statements on religious issues.
Responding to remarks concerning the ABVP, Bandi Sanjay said the organisation was not an affiliate of the BJP, though both shared an ideology.
He also described the Election Commission as an autonomous body and criticised the Congress and BRS, alleging that their political exchanges were diverting attention from the Congress government's Six Guarantees.
He said people in Telangana wanted political change and claimed the BJP was working against both parties to bring about that change.
Bandi Sanjay also said union Home Minister Amit Shah would visit Karimnagar on October 4.
