HAM rural road works to begin across Telangana from Oct 25: Seethakka

Hanamkonda, Sep 25 (UNI) Telangana Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Danasari Anasuya Seethakka on Friday directed officials and contractors to commence rural road works under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) across the state from October 25, stressing the need for quality and long-lasting infrastructure.
At a regional review meeting covering the erstwhile Warangal and Khammam districts at the Hanamkonda Collectorate, the Minister reviewed Panchayat Raj, Rural Development and Rural Water Supply programmes and separately discussed HAM road works with contractors.
She said 18,472 km of rural roads would be developed in three phases under the HAM model. The first phase covers 7,448 km, involving an expenditure of more than Rs 6,000 crore, including 2,145 roads serving around 3,000 gram panchayats. The project has been divided into 17 circles and 17 packages.
