Revanth Reddy lays foundation for Rs 200 cr net-zero NIUM campus at Future City

Hyderabad, Oct 19 (UNI) Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Monday laid the foundation stone for the National Institute of Urban Management (NIUM) campus at Bharat Future City, with the State government setting a target to complete the Rs 200-crore project by June 2, 2028, Telangana Formation Day.
The government has allotted 20 acres of land free of cost for the campus, which is envisioned as a national-level centre for urban management, research and capacity building. The project was selected through a national-level competition in 2009 under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission, but remained pending for years due to the non-allocation of land.
Designed by Sanjay Puri Architects, the proposed net-zero campus will incorporate solar power, rainwater harvesting, wastewater recycling, energy-efficient buildings and locally sourced, low-carbon construction materials. Nearly two-thirds of the site will be dedicated to greenery and open spaces.
