BJP ST Morcha files complaint with DGP over fake seeds

Hyderabad, May 26 (UNI) The BJP ST Morcha state team on Monday filed a formal complaint with Telangana DGP Jitender Reddy, seeking justice for tribal farmers who have suffered severe crop losses due to the alleged distribution of fake seeds in the Venkatapuram agency areas of Mulugu district.

Speaking on the occasion, ST Morcha State President Dr Kalyan Nayak alleged that for the past few months, companies like SIMJANTA, HITECH, BAYER, and SIBI have been supplying fake seeds to farmers. He claimed these scams have been carried out under the tacit approval of the government, accusing it of gross negligence. He said that tribal farmers, who placed their trust in these seeds, were left devastated as their crops failed, and in some tragic cases, debt-ridden farmers reportedly committed suicide.
